Our group began when we realized that there is limited support for schools who are starting to implement the Integrated ELD or Co-Teaching Models. There are numerous benefits of Co-Teaching, but this program model can also be challenging to implement without adequate training and customized support.
After several years of experience in this area as both a principal (Leigh) and a teacher (Maggie), we developed workshops and resources to help teams understand how to create strong and effective partnerships and serve students of all proficiency levels.
Based on the needs of the students and schools we serve, we began to expand our professional development opportunities to include sheltered instruction and collaborative team planning.
We draw on our backgrounds in SIOP (Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol) and GLAD (Guided Language Acquisition Design) and use the same strategies during professional development with teachers as we do with our students.
We pride ourselves in providing highly engaging PD with strong research-based strategies that teachers can use the next day in their classrooms.
